Parrying is used to fight in more defensive way, while using a shield, your armor increases. Amount of AR depends of your Parrying skill and used Shield, even +24 AR with 125% Parrying and the best possible shield, but generally always adds about 20 AR with GM Parrying. Parrying is a nice choice if you’re PVM’ing a lot, +20 AR gives huge diffence but remember if you wear shield, then you have to use one-handed weapons which deal lower damages than two-handed weapons. Although with the new ores, some of those one handed weapons deal very good damage when made with the new ores.

Parrying can be combined with following skills:

Vendor Train to 33%, from 33% to 70% use a buckler, then change to a Heater Shield, try to get more monsters on you, this will let you to gain the skill faster.
